Growing up in small county town Heathcote, Victoria, Mariah was exposed to folk classics Neil Young, Bob Dylan and Joni Mitchell from a young age. So it was natural that when she first picked up a guitar at 9 years old these were the songs she longed to play. With current Aussie influences from the likes of Paul Kelly, Missy Higgins and Kate Miller-Hedike – Mariah soon began writing her own songs. Mariah writes with maturity well beyond her years and produces compelling songs that are reminiscent of the ‘60s protest songs.

Having spent four years in Melbourne after high school learning the ins and outs of the music industry in folk duo Deer Prudence, Mariah settled in Bendigo in 2018 and released her debut 7 track EP Counting Sheep recorded by David Carr (Rangemaster). Touring the EP across regional Victoria, Mariah has made countless festival appearances across the state including Yackandandah Folk Fesitval, home-town favourite Bendigo Blues and Roots Music Festival and last year travelled up north to Illawarra Folk Festival (NSW).

With a string of new songs under her belt, Mariah is working towards releasing her debut album in 2022.
