ORB (Organic Rock Band) are a Geelong psychedelic power trio, growing heavy riffs and lysergic grooves from rich, unmanicured soil. Their sound is raw and earthy - fuzzed-out guitar, deep-rooted bass and thunderous drums - played loud and left to sprawl.
ORB favour slow growth over quick fixes, letting the music breathe, bloom and occasionally run wild. More concerned with the roll then the rock, O.R.B are "gods favourite jazz band!".
Playing dark, sonically massive guitar-based rock that's heavy without sounding excessively metallic. Founded by three members of the Australian band the Frowning Clouds after that band broke up: guitarist and lead singer Zak Olsen, guitarist and bassist Daff Gravolin joined by new drummer John Zacharius.
ORB's music is rooted in late 1960s/early 1970s hard rock sound, think Sabbath and Blue Oyster Cult, with heavily distorted lead guitar and a simple but punishing rhythm section providing the backdrop.
This Organic Rock Band spans genres such as psychedelic rock, acid rock, stoner rock, and neo-psychedelic, solidifying their place in the modern heavy rock scene.
Their debut album, 2016's Birth, earned them the respect of fans of 21st Century heavy rock, and the trio expanded on that LP's stylistic template with subsequent full length efforts like 2017's Naturality and 2024's Tailem Bend.
See them close out this years Stars & Bars weekender on the Saturday Night at The Palling Bros Brewery Evening Session.
